Cleanse tip: DRINK WATER- when you are flushing out TOXINS you want to wash them GONE. When you don't intake enough water, the river bed dries up, and junk gets left behind. (toxins). When you drink water, the river flows through your body, taking the junk out with it. Make sense? Hope so!! If not, contact me. We'll talk about it. :)

Healthy Oil???
Question for you to ponder. How much time do you take caring for your home, your car, your stuff? How much time to you take in caring for your body? You can replace stuff- you have only one life on this earth. Make the most of it!
A while back I challenged the group to be mindful of water intake. How are you doing with the water? Hopefully you are all getting the proper amount each and every day.
Today I want to address fats. What kind of oils do you allow into your body? Ever stopped to think about it?
Did you know that we NEED fats? Of course we do- but the RIGHT kinds of fats, "healthy" fats. We'll get into foods that contain fats another time, like nuts, avocados, fish, etc. Right now I want you to think cooking fats.
We have found that the VERY best "cooking" fats are the following:
Grape seed oil- can be used at very high heat
Olive Oil- best used not heated, or at very low cooking temperatures
Coconut oil- can be used at very high heat, but has a coconut flavor (yum)
Organic Butter- you know what to do with butter!
Now you may be asking....where is the "Canola Oil", otherwise known as rapeseed oil???? In MY opinion, that stuff belongs in the category it was created for: machinery. It should never be used in the human body. Test me on this. "Spill" a little on an old piece of fabric. Let it sit a while. Then wash it. Does it come out in the wash? Hmmmm- what does that tell you. What's going on INSIDE your body?
My "go to" oil is grape seed for most cooking. Olive oil for dipping. And we make an amazing cookie healthy cookie, that is actually a healthy meal with the use of coconut oil.
Looking forward to a "healthy" discussion!

Family Time
Today I got to "pull a surprise" that I've been working on for my son's 18th birthday. I flew his older brother in for a few days. In fact, all 3 of our sons are home. This is the first time we are all under the same roof for nearly 2 years. We had a GREAT time as a family today and tonight.
As we are busy with daily life, running kids here and there. Cleaning, cooking, homework, sports- how many times do we wish that we didn't have so much to do. We are over the 1/2 point now- 2 kids out of the house, and the 3rd will go sometime this year. Lucky for us, we do have one left for the next few years.
Remember, your "health" comes in many forms, it's all a part of the over all you. Spending time with those you love makes you a happier, healthier person.

One more day....
Our youngest son's 18th b'day is on Thursday, however his BIG surprise will be here tomorrow!!!! I can't wait!! This will blow him away!!!! I'll share AFTER.
Our new iMac's arrived yesterday. My husband and I each got one. So far so good! The learning curve is not bad at all. I still need to up-load all my "stuff" from the old pc.......hope to have some help with that later today. The only thing I've having trouble with is the ipod. I need to transfer 7.8 days worth of up-loads from my pc to my iMac. Can't do it from the ipod it's self without wiping all the uploaded stuff off!! EEKKKK- hope my "helpers" can help me with that!! Otherwise, all is good!
My husband had a table this morning at the Chamber. Wish I could have been there, but someone has to get our daughter to school. He said it went great. He did have plenty of help. Three great ladies. In fact, Marna did the speaking! They were flooded with people after the meeting.
OK- I'll be back tomorrow with b'day info.....

A day behind
I posted on Facebook yesterday that I was going to post something on my blog- sorry, never got around to it. Between not being at home all day, and the slowness of the broken computer, it just didn't happen. So here goes!
On Thursday night I ran our final "Home Presentation" regarding nutritional cleansing for the winter. (Spring is almost here!!) We had a packed house. Many people brought their friends and family over so that they could also learn how to care for their bodies in today's toxic world.
So many stories were shared to me after the meeting. One in particular really touched me. This women has not been in our group for long, but has noticed a huge difference in the way she is feeling, as well as having dropped some weight. She cares for her 87 year old mother. Earlier in the week her mother seemed to be going down hill rather quickly. Out of it. Not wanting to eat. So this women made her mother a protein shake. What she told me gave me goose bumps. In a very shot amount of time her mother was feeling much better. Feeling pretty good in fact. That was Monday. Thursday night this lady AND her mother sat here in my living room. Her mother was so sweet. LOVES the shake. For her it means she doesn't have to "fix food" any more! She told us how good she was feeling now, just days later. That's why I do what I do. So daughters can help their mamma's. So parents can see their children be healthy. We will all one day die. I want to die healthy.

To Sleep or Not to Sleep...
I just went to open my shutters on the way over to my computer. Could hardly believe my eyes....it's SNOWING! I for one did NOT receive the memo....SNOW??? Yesterday was the warmest day so far this year- and big beautiful blue skies. We did hear the rain in the night. The wind is blowing, skies are dark and snow is coming down fast. I'm sure it will turn into rain before long.
I have been working on a few wellness articles. The recent computer crises has put me back a bit. One of the pieces I was working on has to do with sleep. Sleep is an area of my life that I thought I had "under control". Then came the puppy. Enough said, right?? When our bodies and our brains don't have the proper amount of "off" time each night we end up with several problems. some of the past that I dealt with were excessive weight, chronic fatigue and brain fog. Not to mention just being down right unpleasant to be around! My sleep issues improved within days of beginning a nutritional cleansing program. I can't even tell you how wonderful it's been to get up in the morning fully rested. Hmmm- until now. It's been about 4 weeks now that our 4 month old puppy has been greeting us between 3am-6am. We're working on it, and he's much better.
New computers come next week- by then I should have this article finished!

National Grammar Day
I just heard that today is *National Grammar Day*.....is that funny or what?? Is everyday a holiday? Yes, I do believe that my grammar could use some serious help, but a national day of grammar? Everyone, go out a write a paper!!
Right on cue, March has brought in the rain. This is good news- we still have far too much ice and so called snow on the ground. It was mentioned on the news weeks ago that it was time to start preparing your garden. With 3 feet on ice on the ground, I do think that was jumping the gun a bit. We don't have a good garden spot at this house. I think a lettuce and herb garden will have to do.
Count down to my son Brian's big birthday surprise.......7 days!! I'm excited. He has NO clue! What's the best surprise you ever pulled off??
My 2 day cleanse is over, time to make a protein shake- then off to the gym. Looks like another busy day!!

Waiting
For the last few months I have been held captive by a household of "sick" computers. No, really.
Mine likes to shut down every so often......just out of the blue. My husbands laptop died, so he started using mine (I don't use it often)- and now it's running sloooooow. Even our daughter's computer was out of commission. Guess what her problem was??!!! She had placed a cute little magnet on the side!!! We are very grateful for an excellent computer repair guy, who has become a close family friend over the years. If you are local to me, I'm happy to share his number with you. He has done what he can for most of our problems.
As for my PC- we just realized how old it is. We actually bought it 2nd hand as a back up quite a while back. I had forgotten. So we will "retire" my PC. Sometime in the next 48 hours 2 brand new iMacs will arrive. I'm more then a little afraid of the "switch". Wish me luck!!!

March is blowing in!!
So, it's March already?? Now how the heck did that happen?? Boy oh boy....does anyone else feel the same way? 2009 is flying by.
I'm excited...in just days our youngest son will be 18 years old!! He's "finished" high school early, so he's off to "real life" now! I can't wait for his BIG birthday surprise. It's blow his socks off.....and it didn't really "cost" anything. Well, not much. Sorry, can't share just yet.
Today we're doing a "family" cleanse. We LOVE the *new* flavor. Yummmmy! I am feeling clean and happy inside and out.
